From Neighborhood Cafe To National Distribution

Our story is the story of America. Our grandparents came over from Italy in 1889 and brought every ounce of their heritage with them. They showed us that it’s possible to feel at home no matter where you are, as long as you’re cooking a big meal together. They opened Bove’s Café in 1941, creating a home away from home for old friends and new neighbors alike.

As successive generations took over the restaurant, the demand for Bove’s expanded beyond what our one neighborhood restaurant could handle. Bove’s dishes were featured on Throwdown! With Bobby Flay, the TODAY show, and the Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate. We decided to expand our business, bottling our sauces and producing meatballs and lasagna for grocery store distribution. Our experience of going from one neighborhood café to national distribution proved that tried and true recipes deserve a tried and true production process. And scaling up should never mean letting down the people who got you there.
